Job description

Overview

The Assistant Project Manager supports the successful delivery of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and project partners to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.

What You'll Do
  • Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and overall project coordination.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and other construction documents.
  • Assist with permits, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, owners, architects, engineers, and internal project teams.
  • Help track project schedules, deliveries, material procurement, and project milestones.
  • Monitor project costs, assist with invoicing, and support budget management efforts.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate updates to project stakeholders.
  • Support field operations by working closely with Superintendents and project teams.
  • Assist with project closeout activities, including punch lists, as-builts, training, and warranty documentation.
  • Promote compliance with company policies, project procedures, and safety requirements.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Superintendent, or similar construction role.
  • Must have knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, estimating, budgeting, and project management practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Experience with construction management software, including Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
