Job Description:
The Investment Operations Team works closely in all aspects of the investment process, collaborating with various departments across BXMA, including Portfolio Management, Investment, Legal & Compliance, Business and Financial Evaluation, Guideline Monitoring, Middle Office, Data Analytics, and Client Reporting. Given the intersection of responsibilities, analysts actively engage with all BXMA teams, taking on significant responsibilities, playing key roles, and overseeing offshore teams.
Analysts on the Investment Operations Team are expected to prepare ad-hoc reports, lead projects, and actively contribute to continuous process improvements, leveraging various data visualization, LLMs and AI tools.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Investment Process: Participate in operational aspects of fund launches, restructurings, and liquidations. Maintain allocation models for future funding activity. Document allocation/redemption notes for each investment decision.
  • Trade Processing: Develop allocation models for future funding activity; Document allocation and redemption notes for each investment decision; Participate in the operational launch of BXMA products/customized solutions as well as liquidations of terminated funds/accounts.
  • Liquidity Management: Track investment and legal deadlines; Analyze fund and manager liquidity
  • Manager Communication: Collect monthly AUM (Assets Under Management) data for portfolio investments. Monitor manager deadlines for subscription and redemptions. Maintain relationships with investment managers to coordinate transfer logistics.
  • Process Development/Improvement: Create and implement process guides for the team's various functions. Lead projects and contribute to ongoing process enhancements.
  • Meeting Preparation/Reporting: assist in preparing materials for various meetings. Prepare ad-hoc reports as needed.
  • System Onboarding: Facilitate the onboarding of new products, investment managers, and direct investments into BXMA's proprietary systems. Collaborate with teams across Blackstone and BXMA to support system integration efforts.
  • Data Maintenance: Manage specific reference data used for internal analysis and external client reporting.
  • Contact Management: Update and manage portfolio investment contact information for annual liquidity projection mailings and other ad-hoc communications.
  • Offshore Team Oversight: Supervise offshore teams managing recurring tasks for the Investment Operations Team.
  • Compliance: Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance projects.

Qualifications:
Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, the successful candidate should have:
  • 1+ years of relevant professional experience (preferably within asset management, alternatives, banking, etc.).
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel, Pivot Tables, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience utilizing LLMs and AI tools in an enterprise context (e.g. Microsoft Copilot).
  • Advanced Excel skills, any experience with VBA/Power Query is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data engineering, data analytics, and business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau / Snowflake / AWS / Sigma) would be advantageous.
  • Working knowledge on fund economics, direct trading investments, and investor reporting across public and private markets (preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Sound judgment, confidence, and experience working independently on ad hoc projects.
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills

Expected annual base salary range:
$110,000 - $125,000
Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone's sole discretion.
