Stanley Black & Decker is seeking an experienced MRO Specialist to join our team in East Longmeadow, MA. In this role, you'll help ensure our manufacturing operations run efficiently by managing maintenance, repair, and operating (MRO) inventory, partnering with suppliers, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that reduce costs and minimize equipment downtime.

What You'll Do
  • Manage MRO inventory to ensure critical supplies are available and equipment downtime is minimized.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, purchasing, and suppliers to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Review and optimize MIN/MAX inventory levels.
  • Lead inventory optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities with suppliers and sourcing teams.
  • Monitor MRO KPIs and ensure supplier performance meets business needs.
  • Maintain compliance with MRO purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Plan and manage consumable inventory, including tooling, abrasives, cutting oils, and office supplies.
  • Support price negotiations and evaluate alternative suppliers.
  • Utilize SAP and other inventory systems to manage materials and purchasing activities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of purchasing and inventory control experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MRO inventory management and manufacturing equipment parts.
  • Experience with inventory planning and purchasing processes.
  • Working knowledge of SAP required; Ariba, CMMS, and CribMaster experience is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead projects, collaborate across departments, and drive continuous improvement.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
