Job Description:
Responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks supporting the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary.
Essential Functions:
  • Within parameters, determines routing and arrangements for shipments, considering such factors as nature of items being shipped, method of handling, size, urgency, and cost.
  • Consults rate schedule for specific rates depending on method of shipment and/or distance shipped.
  • Assesses most economical and efficient common or contract carrier, to transport shipments.
  • Calculates and records storage, redelivery, and other applicable charges.
  • May reroute urgent shipments of an urgent nature or arrange for special delivery at destination.
  • Prepares and maintains records of products shipped and tracks shipments.
  • Receives incoming materials, unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices.
  • Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications.
  • Maintains records of received goods, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents.
  • Stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
  • Lifts heavy items and may operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, tow motors, forklifts, etc. upon receipt of internal certification.
  • Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
  • May perform wood shop functions such as operating power saws and nail guns in building skids and crates.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • Communicates with contacts typically within the team on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement.
  • Work is less structured within identified boundaries and procedures.
  • Follows established processes to complete tasks. Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations.
  • Escalates issues to supervisor for resolution.
  • Works to achieve operational targets within job area which has some impact on the overall achievement of results for the team.
  • Work is somewhat limited in scope, typically on smaller, less structured task-related activities.

Qualifications:
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship
  • Experienced in SAP

Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Excellent Organizational Skills
  • Previous stockroom experience preferred.
  • Highly prefer someone with international shipping experience and ITAR regulated environment.
  • Must be Detailed Oriented and Accurate when documenting data
  • SAP S/4HANA experience a plus.
  • Solid understanding of computer usage (i.e. Excel, Microsoft Word, label making programs)
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Previous forklift experience and ability to be forklift certified
