THE OPPORTUNITY:


The Inventory Control Lead is responsible for overseeing inventory accuracy, integrity, and availability across the operation. This role leads inventory control activities, coordinates cycle counts, investigates discrepancies, and partners with operations, purchasing, and production teams to ensure optimal inventory levels and compliance with established processes. The Inventory Control Lead serves as a subject-matter expert and provides guidance to inventory staff while driving continuous improvement.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and execute inventory control processes, including cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations
  • Ensure accurate inventory records across systems (ERP/WMS) and physical locations
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Monitor inventory movement, adjustments, and transactions for compliance and accuracy
  • Collaborate with receiving, production, shipping, and purchasing teams to support inventory flow
  • Train, coach, and support inventory control team members on best practices and procedures
  • Develop and maintain inventory control documentation, SOPs, and reporting
  • Prepare and analyze inventory reports, including variances, shrinkage, and trends
  • Support physical inventories and ensure timely completion with minimal operational disruption
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within inventory operations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associateโ€™s or bachelorโ€™s degree preferred
  • 3โ€“5 years of inventory control or warehouse experience, with prior lead or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices
  • Proficiency with ERP or WMS systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective communication and leadership skills
