POSITION OVERVIEW:
Startec Compression & Process is currently recruiting a Material Handler to work at our Shepard Shop (9423 Shepard Rd SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 4R6).  The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring efficient and seamless management of materials and inventory within the warehouse.
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Materials Handler will be responsible for the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials required for various projects, working closely with procurement teams, and project managers. This position requires a candidate with a strong understanding of P&IDs, pipefitting, and raw materials.
The Materials Handler will focus on maintaining accurate inventory records, optimizing stock levels, and ensuring compliance with effective inventory control measures. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI):
MATERIAL HANDLING & CONTROL (Weighting 40%)P&ID Utilization
  • Demonstrate expertise in interpreting and applying information from Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) to ensure accurate handling and storage of materials.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to align material handling practices with project-specific requirements outlined in P&IDs.
Pipefitting & Safety Compliance
  • Apply pipefitting knowledge to handle materials safely and efficiently, adhering to established safety standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety assessments related to material handling processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
RAW MATERIALS MANAGEMENT (Weighting 30%)Structural Materials
