We are seeking an Electrical Shop Lead to help guide and strengthen our electrical fabrication and assembly operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands shop execution, values quality, and wants to help shape a growing organization built around continuous improvement.

Position Summary
The Electrical Shop Lead is responsible for overseeing day-to-day shop operations related to electrical assembly, heat trace systems, panel work, fabrication support, and readiness of materials for field deployment. This role ensures work flows smoothly, standards remain high, and priorities stay aligned with project needs.
The successful candidate will lead from the floor, support team members, solve constraints, and create an environment where quality and productivity improve together.
Key
ResponsibilitiesShop Leadership & Execution
Lead daily electrical shop activities including assembly, wiring, testing, staging, and preparation of materials
Coordinate labour, tools, and materials to ensure productive workflow
Remove bottlenecks that slow production or create rework
Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused shop environment
Support urgent operational needs with practical decision-making
Quality & Standards
Ensure all work meets code requirements, drawings, specifications, and client expectations
Conduct inspections, testing, and quality checks before release to site
Reduce errors, deficiencies, and repeat work through stronger process control
Promote pride in workmanship and professional standards
Planning & Coordination
Work closely with operations, project management, procurement, and field teams to align priorities
Provide realistic completion timelines and status updates
Ensure shop readiness for shutdowns, maintenance work, and project mobilizations
Assist with inventory, material tracking, and replenishment needs
Team Development
Lead apprentices, journeypersons, and shop personnel through coaching and daily direction
Support training and skill development of newer employees
Foster accountability, teamwork, and professionalism
Help create future leaders within the organization
What We’re Looking For
Journeyperson Electrician certification preferred
Strong background in industrial, commercial, or electrical fabrication/shop environments
Experience with heat trace, control systems, or industrial electrical packages is an asset
Leadership or supervisory experience in a shop setting
Strong organizational and communication skills
Practical problem-solver who remains calm under pressure
Comfortable using digital systems for tracking, communication, and workflow management
