POSITION: FOUNDRY ENGINEERING INTERN SUMMER 2026
LOCATION: GREENVILLE, PA
Founded in 1876, Hodge Foundry has been a fixture in the Greenville, PA community for over 145 years.
Today Hodge Foundry specializes in highly engineered complex Grey and Ductile Iron castings and is the only foundry in North America capable of casting parts from 60,000 to 200,000 pounds. Hodge Foundry continues to supply castings for the global markets of mining, power generation, gas compression, heavy industrial equipment, and infrastructure.
As we look to the future and continue to evolve, we are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team. We are seeking those who possess a strong desire to work as part of our team, can work safely and efficiently in a heavy industrial environment, are focused on producing quality products for our customers, can follow work instructions, and possess a willingness to learn.
DESCRIPTION
  • Summer 2026, typically June-August
  • Assist and support the Engineering and Quality departments
  • Participate throughout the entire casting process
  • Complete special assignments as required.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • Current students majoring in a 4-year technical degree - Typically ME, MET or IE
INTERNSHIP STRUCTURE
  • Orientation 2-3 weeks. Spend time in all major areas of shop and office. Report out.
  • Typically work on 10-20 degree dependent projects, Large (4 day) and small (2hrs.).
  • Project scope depends on degree. Typically using core engineering classes. Strength of materials, physics, chemistry, thermodynamics, business classes.
  • Work with hardware, 3D printers (FDM and Resin), 6 Axis robot (foam milling).
  • Capstone project is to take a small job from start to finish from an Engineering standpoint, including Magmasoft simulation and work instruction generation using inventor.
  • Complete a presentation to cover all aspects of internship.
