Job description

Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Product Engineer. This position is ONSITE Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm at our Wilsonville OR Eaton plant.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:
The Product Engineer is responsible for executing administrative, technical, and engineering activities that support the Power Center's manufacturing objectives. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality products, including Motor Control Centers (MCCs), while driving operational excellence, product quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
In this function you will:
  • Support a single product line which could include either Low Voltage Assemblies, Low Voltage Motor Control Centers, Medium Voltage Assemblies or Medium Voltage Switchgear.
  • Prepare Bills of Material and CAD drawings, including control schematics and wiring diagrams, which shop personnel follow to build into a completed product meeting the customer requirement.
  • Maintain engineering schedule to ensure drawings are released and parts are ordered in time to support the Production build schedule.
  • Maintain good working relationships with Power Center Production team, Product Applications Engineers, Supply Chain, customers, distributors and
  • Eaton Sales personnel in support of a quality customer service effort.
  • Stay abreast of Eaton technical product developments and industry standards through training or other means.
  • Provide technical support for customers and plant personnel.
  • Support Warranty Technician and investigate warranty requests to determine root cause and solution to help customer.
  • Actively drive and participate in a culture of "Safety First".
  • Support product line quality, using and modifying quality check sheets, peer review processes, and NCR Root Cause/Corrective Action investigations.
  • Actively contribute to Continuous Improvement projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Wilsonville, OR facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Must have experience with AutoCAD, Inventor or similar related software.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in support of manufacturing through assignments in sales, inventory control, clerical, or production.

Skills:

  • Familiarity with digital logic, control schematics, and/or PLC concepts.
  • Experience designing and applying power distribution and/or motor control equipment.
  • Prior engineering experience through internships or assignments in a manufacturing setting.
