Job description

Summary:
As a Designer, you will be responsible for creating accurate and detailed 3D models, assemblies, and design drawings using Autodesk Inventor. The ideal candidate will have intermediate-level mechanical design experience and be comfortable translating engineering concepts, sketches, and requirements into detailed models and drawings while working within a collaborative engineering team.
Location: Onsite/Hybrid in Oak Ridge
Salary Range: Depending on experience
Responsibilities:
  • Utilize Autodesk Inventor to create and revise 3D models, assemblies, components, and detailed design drawings.
  • Develop accurate drawings and models based on engineering sketches, concepts, specifications, and markups.
  • Create and maintain assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, and associated design documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to understand project requirements and develop practical design solutions.
  • Interpret technical drawings, sketches, and engineering markups to produce accurate design packages.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, process, electrical, and other engineering disciplines to incorporate design inputs.
  • Review and update models and drawings to reflect design changes and engineering modifications.
  • Ensure drawings and models comply with applicable project standards, drafting practices, and design requirements.
  • Perform quality checks on completed drawings, models, and other design deliverables.
  • Participate in design reviews and support project schedule milestones.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma required; associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience using Autodesk Inventor for 3D modeling and mechanical design.
  • Experience creating parts, assemblies, and detailed drawings in Inventor.
  • Intermediate-level design experience preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or other CAD software is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, engineering sketches, and markups.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Familiarity with industrial, manufacturing, fabrication, or process facility design preferred.
  • Experience in DOE market segments is a plus.
  • Must have the ability to acquire a security clearance.
