About Us
Client is a woman-owned manufacturing company located in Grabill, Indiana. We specialize in designing and building custom casework, architectural millwork, retail store fixtures, and commercial cabinetry for clients across the nation.
Our work can be found in retail stores, airports, hospitals, hotels, senior living facilities, restaurants, corporate offices, government buildings, and educational centers. Every project is custom-no catalogs, no mass production-just precision, craftsmanship, and engineered solutions built to spec.
Position Overview
We are expanding our engineering team and are seeking a Design Engineer with strong AutoDesk Inventor or SolidWorks experience to support our custom manufacturing operations.
This role is ideal for someone who has worked in RV manufacturing, transportation interiors, cabinetry, millwork, or other highly customized production environments and is comfortable building detailed 3D models, assemblies, and production drawings.
Direct millwork experience is not required-we are willing to train the right candidate on millwork standards, materials, and processes as they relate to our business.
This is an on-site position. Candidates must be willing to commute or relocate to the Fort Wayne / Grabill, Indiana area.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and shop drawings using AutoDesk Inventor or SolidWorks
  • Interpret architectural, design, and internal project documentation
  • Develop and maintain cut lists, bills of materials (BOMs), and part files
  • Ensure drawings meet production standards, quality expectations, and timelines
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, production teams, and installers
  • Resolve engineering challenges related to custom manufacturing and fitment
  • Maintain organized documentation and revision control throughout each project

Qualifications
Required
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience using AutoDesk Inventor or SolidWorks
  • Experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings and assemblies
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills

Preferred / Highly Valued
  • Experience in RV manufacturing, transportation interiors, or similar custom-built industries
  • Background in cabinetry, casework, or cabinetmaking
  • Familiarity with CNC-driven manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to materials, hardware, and assemblies used in fabricated products

(Millwork-specific knowledge is a plus, but not required - training will be provided.)
