Job description

Role Overview
The Communications Specialist will support internal communications by translating business priorities into clear, engaging, and timely content for employees. This role is primarily focused on writing and editing internal communications, managing intranet content, and developing newsletters and recurring updates that keep employees informed, aligned, and engaged. They will work closely with internal subject matter experts to ensure that employees are informed and engaged.
This role also requires comfort using generative AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline content development, and support message testing and optimization. It is well suited for a strong writer with 2-3 years of experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Content Development & Writing:
    • Draft, edit, and proofread a wide range of internal communications, including leadership messages, enterprise announcements, organizational updates, FAQs, and executive correspondence
    • Translate complex topics into clear, concise, and employee-friendly messaging
    • Use generative AI tools appropriately to support drafting, editing, summarization, and message refinement, while ensuring accuracy, tone, and alignment with company standards
    • Ensure all internal content aligns with multiple brand voices, tone, and communications guidelines
  • Intranet & Channels Management
    • Manage day-to-day publishing and maintenance of content on the company intranet, including posting announcements, updates, and feature stories
    • Monitor content freshness and usability, recommending updates or improvements to keep the intranet current and relevant
    • Partner with stakeholders to gather content, ensure accuracy, and meet publishing timelines
  • Newsletters & Campaigns
    • Develop and manage internal newsletters, including content planning, drafting, editing, and coordination of approvals
    • Support internal communications campaigns tied to key business milestones, leadership announcements, governance updates, and employee initiatives
  • Collaboration & Coordination
    • Work closely with strategy and communications leadership, HR, Legal, and other functional teams to support enterprise-wide communications needs
    • Assist with coordinating content calendars and tracking communications deliverables
    • Support basic measurement and reporting on internal communications engagement when needed

Qualifications
Required
  • 2-3 years of experience in communications, corporate communications, internal communications, journalism, or a related field
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Experience managing or contributing to intranet platforms and digital communications tools
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools and an understanding of how to use them responsibly to support communications work
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential or sensitive information

Preferred
  • Experience supporting internal communications across multiple corporate voices
  • Experience developing newsletters or recurring editorial products
  • Interest in exploring new tools and technologies to improve communications effectiveness
