Job description

The Intersect Group is seeking an experienced Senior Network Security Engineer to support and enhance our client’s network security architecture and operations. This role will drive security strategy, manage enterprise security technologies, and ensure a resilient, compliant infrastructure.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead network security architecture, roadmap development, and implementation of security solutions.
  • Own security enhancements across firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, and cloud security platforms.
  • Serve as SME for deploying and configuring new security technologies.
  • Monitor networks, systems, and logs using SIEM and vulnerability management tools.
  • Support compliance efforts, risk assessments, and security policy enforcement.
  • Manage enterprise network functions including domain controllers and DHCP.
  • Contribute to upgrades, integrations, and special security projects.
  • Document configurations and procedures; mentor junior team members.
  • Participate in weekly on-call rotation as needed.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT/IS/CS/Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years focused on network security.
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, IAM, and authentication protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VPN, LAN/WAN/WLAN.
  • Experience managing 20+ enterprise firewalls.
  • Proficiency with Azure, AWS, and SaaS tools (Salesforce, Workday, O365).
  • Expertise in cloud security and zero-trust network architecture.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
