Laboratory Technician

Hours: 7:00a - 3:30p Monday- Friday

What is a Laboratory Technician?

This is 1st shift position. MP is looking for energetic and reliable individual who can multitask with previous industrial experience to join our team. Full benefit package and competitive wages. The laboratory technician will primarily build SMC and BMC materials for R&D. In addition, this position will also be responsible for supporting the SMC3 production supervisor(s) for production batches made on SMC3. The laboratory technician will also be responsible for molding and testing in the R&D laboratory, SMC machine and mixing operation, sampling raw materials from the plant, and organizing/maintaining these materials in the R&D storage area.


What You Can Expect to Do as a Laboratory Technician:

  • Verify raw material
  • Material transfer throughout the plant
  • Add and mix correct raw materials using proper procedures
  • Handle and record hazardous waste
  • Setting up and running machines
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Perform any other duties as directed by team leads, supervisors and management

What We Are Looking For in a Laboratory Technician:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Ability and experience handling a fork truck
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. consistently and handle 55-gallon drums on dollies and lifts
  • Multi-task oriented, mechanically minded
  • Effective communication skills, including speaking, writing and understanding English
  • Ability to follow work instructions and procedures
  • Computer literacy and capable is preferred
  • Math skills are required
  • Manufacturing or Batch making experience preferred
