Process Engineering Associate Internship

Role Overview

The Process Engineering Internship on the Mitsubishi Power Process Engineering team offers a current engineering student handson experience in the power generation industry. Interns support realworld project execution by contributing directly to active projects alongside experienced engineers. This role provides exposure to core process engineering activities and project workflows, supporting Mitsubishi Power's ongoing engineering and execution efforts while building foundational technical and professional skills in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Review and verify Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for accuracy and alignment with process design requirements.
  • Perform and review hydraulic calculations using piping isometrics and inhouse hydraulic analysis software.
  • Develop and maintain process simulation models using our HYSYS software.
  • Build and expand technical knowledge of Gas Turbine technology and related process systems.
  • Support Lead Process Engineers with daily engineering tasks, analysis, and documentation as part of project execution.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABETaccredited fouryear college or university.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.9 required.
  • VBA programming experience preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically and manage multiple tasks.
