About the Job
We are looking for a Junior Analyst (or Analyst Intern) to join the CEO's direct team. This is a high-visibility role focused on financial modeling, scenario planning, and forward-looking analysis that shapes how Blackbird thinks about growth, unit economics, and the future state of the restaurant economy. You will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership to build the analytical foundation for strategic decisions.
Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain, and iterate on financial models that project the future state of Blackbird's business across multiple scenarios (growth, market expansion, product launches).
  • Develop unit economics models for Blackbird's transaction network (Flynet), restaurant memberships, and Blackbird Club loyalty program.
  • Analyze market data and industry trends in the U.S. restaurant economy to identify opportunities and inform strategic priorities.
  • Prepare investor-ready materials, board presentations, and internal memos that translate complex analysis into clear narratives.
  • Partner with the Product, Sales, and Operations teams to pressure-test assumptions and validate growth levers.
  • Support fundraising and partnership conversations with data-driven insights and scenario analysis.

Requirements
  • 2-3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate finance, or management consulting. Internship experience at the right caliber also qualifies.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, including DCF, LBO, scenario/sensitivity analysis, and three-statement models.
  • Exceptional Excel/Google Sheets skills.
  • Comfort with AI tools, SQL, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker).
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and build models from limited data, we are a growth- stage company, not a mature enterprise.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. You will present to the CEO and the board.
  • Passion for restaurants, hospitality, and/or the future of commerce and loyalty.
  • Based in New York City. This is an on-site role.

Pay Transparency Notice & Benefits
Depending on your work location and experience the target annual salary for this position can range from: $80,000 - $120,000 USD. This range does not include the equity component of the overall compensation package. Disclosure in accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law.
Full time offers from Blackbird may also include stock options, benefits (including medical, dental, vision, flexible time off, 401(k)), and some not-so-standard, extra-fun perks - subject to applicable taxes and based on eligibility.
