Position Summary:

Our team at Reef is seeking an eager to learn Interior Design Intern to join us for the summer, with the possibility of extension into the fall/winter.

This internship is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of architectural and interior design practice, leveraging your skills in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, or sketching to create drawings and presentation materials. You'll work closely with project teams across various design phases and gain valuable experience in construction observation. If you have a specific interest in interior design, you may also assist with furniture and finishes research and selection.

Responsibilities:

  • Create test fits, feasibility studies, and/or floor plans in Revit.
  • Participate in conceptual design and design charrettes with external team members.
  • Conduct research for materials, finishes, systems, and furniture.
  • Download and edit images and files for use in drawing and presentation materials.
  • Coordinate with third-party rendering companies.
  • Assist in administrative duties such as updating and filing project paperwork, preparing meeting agendas and meeting minutes, and organizing project files.
  • Conduct vendor communication to research materials, pricing, stock check, etc.
  • Observe and interact with various professionals, including external team members.
  • Attend project meetings on an ongoing basis and any appropriate company meetings.
  • Solicit feedback from multiple project participants and follow directions.
  • Assist appointment manager with duties and responsibilities and support additional team members.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in architecture, interior architecture, or interior design.
  • Ability to work up to at least 20 hours per week; full-time hours are also available
  • Excellent presentation skills, including space planning and drawing.
  • Understanding of construction documents and general knowledge of current material and building finish products and systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly motivated and willing to learn and develop professional knowledge.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work with good time management.
