Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and Live Nation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater. COTALAND is an amusement park with over 30 attractions and experiences, including first-of-their-kind roller coasters.


The Director of Theme Park Marketing, COTALAND is responsible for leading the execution, optimization, and day-to-day management of marketing efforts that drive attendance, revenue, and guest engagement.

This role translates the broader marketing vision into high-performing campaigns, in-park experiences, and content initiatives. The Director will oversee campaign rollout across all channels, manage internal and external teams, and ensure marketing efforts are aligned, on-brand, and delivering measurable results.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, always-on environment and understands how to market both a destination and an experience.


Requirements

Key Responsibilities


Campaign Execution & Marketing Operations

  • Lead the day-to-day execution of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social, paid media, PR, and on-site activations
  • Oversee the rollout of campaigns supporting ride launches, seasonal events, ticket products, and park experiences
  • Ensure all marketing initiatives are delivered on time, on brand, and aligned with overall business objectives
  • Manage campaign calendars, asset pipelines, and cross-functional coordination with internal teams and partners


In-Park & Experiential Marketing

  • Partner with operations and entertainment teams to bring marketing to life inside the park through signage, moments, and guest-facing touchpoints
  • Develop and execute content-driven experiences that enhance the guest journey and drive shareability
  • Oversee on-site activations, promotions, and special event marketing that create energy and repeat visitation


Content, Social & Brand Execution

  • Lead the development and execution of always-on content strategies across social, video, and digital platforms
  • Ensure a consistent, high-quality brand presence across all channels, with a strong focus on family-friendly, high-energy storytelling
  • Collaborate with creative teams and partners to produce compelling content that drives awareness and engagement


Budget Management & Performance Optimization

  • Manage and track assigned marketing budgets, ensuring efficient allocation across campaigns and channels
  • Monitor campaign performance and optimize based on data, insights, and ROI metrics
  • Work closely with agency partners and internal stakeholders to adjust spend and strategy based on performance


Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor a growing marketing team, ensuring strong execution and accountability
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for agency partners, vendors, and internal departments
  • Collaborate with ticketing, operations, group sales, and partnerships teams to support revenue-driving initiatives



Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in marketing, preferably within theme parks, attractions, hospitality, or live entertainment
  • 3+ years of experience managing teams and/or leading cross-functional marketing initiatives
  • Proven ability to execute high-impact, multi-channel campaigns in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, content strategy, and performance analytics
  • Experience working with budgets, agencies, and external partners
  • Ability to balance creative thinking with data-driven decision making
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and project management skills


Preferred Skills:

  • Basic design or content creation skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Knowledge of regional tourism trends and local media outlets.
  • Event planning and partnership marketing experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced presentation development (PowerPoint)


Work Schedule and Conditions


This position is based on-site at COTALAND Theme Park at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas and requires flexibility for non-traditional hours during rehearsals, installs, openings, and seasonal peak operations.


Physical Demand & Work Environments:

  • Ability to stand, sit, use of hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to squat, bend, twist, push/pull.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
  • Work in extreme environments outdoors throughout the year.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud during events.
