Level 1 Field Technician

Location: New York, NY 10016

Duration: 3 month contract



Required Skills & Experience:

• 6+ months of experience as a PC Technician, Computer Technician, Help Desk Technician, or similar IT support role.

• Will consider current students or recent college graduates seeking hands-on IT experience or internship-equivalent opportunities.

• Familiarity with LAN/WAN networking concepts and basic troubleshooting.

• Knowledge of computer systems, hardware, and IT components.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage travel between sites.




Job Description:

We are seeking reliable and committed Level 1 IT Technicians (3) to support a large-scale payment device refresh project for a major hospital system. Technicians will travel to ambulatory care centers throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, Westchester, and New Jersey to replace existing credit card payment terminals with new devices.

This is an excellent opportunity for entry-level IT professionals, recent graduates, or students pursuing technology-related degrees who are looking to gain hands-on field experience in a healthcare environment.


Responsibilities:

• Replace and install credit card payment devices at ambulatory care locations.

• Verify device functionality and connectivity following installation.

• Perform basic troubleshooting related to network and hardware connectivity.

• Document completed installations and report project status updates.

• Communicate professionally with clinic staff and end users.

• Manage daily schedules and travel between assigned locations.

• Follow project procedures and ensure all devices are installed accurately and efficiently.

Project Details

• Each device replacement is expected to take approximately 30 minutes.

• Work will be conducted across multiple healthcare sites throughout the NYC metropolitan area.

• Candidates must be comfortable with local travel and working independently.

• Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism are critical for project success.
