Job description

Summary:
Dredge America’s core focus is improving quality of life through innovative environmental dredging solutions and our team is what makes that possible. The Interns duties include ensuring a well-maintained worksite for the crew while maintaining a harmonious relationship with the Superintendent, Operator, Deckhands, Laborers and other Interns. Adaptability is critical in this role.

Primary Role:
The basic function of an Intern is to assist the Deckhands and Operator in achieving maximum production possible while taking care of the equipment and working in a safe manner at all times. Below is a list of the primary duties that will be covered under this role.
• Models the Dredge America values: Committed to do the right thing with a can-do-attitude.
• Ensure dredge is clean and well maintained.
• Ability to communicate with all DA team members and superiors.
• Perform basic manual labor tasks.
• Operate land-based support equipment such as forklift, skid-steer, excavator, etc.
• Operate a boat.
• Utilize a proactive approach to completing job specific tasks.
• Perform daily grade checks for Operator.
• Participate in safety meetings.
• Assist Operator, Deckhands and Laborers with daily equipment inspections.
