Job description

Job Summary
Work-based learners/interns may operate a variety of power tools, small equipment, move materials, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble and debris on the job site. Work-based learners/interns may also assist other craft workers while performing their tasks. Work-based learners/interns report to the job site superintendent.
While participating in the WBL/Internship program, workers will gain valuable, real-world experience within the construction industry. Strack, Inc. will provide guidance, supervision, and hands-on training, while also maintaining comprehensive records of each participant's progress, including tracking hours worked and documenting key milestones achieved throughout the program. All duties will comply with OSHA standards and Federal/State Child Labor Laws, including U.S. Department of Labor Hazardous Occupation Orders.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Perform tasks involving strenuous manual labor on construction projects
  • Completion of safety orientation prior to starting, including PPE and hazard awareness
  • Required PPE must be worn at all times
  • Support crew during concrete pours as required by the job
  • Duties may include loading, unloading, handling, and distributing materials, fixtures, and other items as assigned
  • Help maintain a clean jobsite by picking up and storing tools and equipment
  • Perform materials handling and storage
  • Follow all safety rules and report any unsafe conditions to the Foreman
  • Daily required periods of standing, walking, stooping, and bending
  • Periodic lifting up to 50 pounds.
Essential Requirements:
  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Requirements
  • High level of character
  • Effective communication skills across all departments.
  • Possesses keen observations skills; pay attention to and remembers work related instructions, demonstrations and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Flexible schedule Monday through Friday between the hours of 7AM-5:30PM, as well as Saturdays when needed.
  • Schedule will be coordinated with the superintendent on site.
