Job description

Pre-Apprenticeship and Internship Opportunity

Community Council Health Systems (CCHS) has a Twelve-Week Pre-Apprenticeship and Internship Opportunity, in partnership with JEVS Human Services. Through this partnership, we are committed to providing workforce development, community engagement, and creating meaningful pathways for students and emerging professionals.

Community Council Health Systems? Mission is to empower individuals and families to achieve optimal mental wellness through educational and supportive approaches. As part of this mission, we have developed a structured twelve-week pre-apprenticeship and internship experience designed to provide students and community members with hands-on, real-world learning, professional mentorship, and exposure to career pathways that complement their academic studies.

This program is currently operating as a pre-apprenticeship while it is the formal registration process with the State of Pennsylvania Apprenticeship & Training Office. During this period, the program is intentionally designed to align with registered Pre-apprenticeship standards, including recognized workforce development standards, emphasizing supervision, skill-building, and professional growth. Upon approval from the state, the program will transition into a fully registered Pre-apprenticeship to Apprenticeship program. The pre-apprenticeship program will require participants commit to approximately three days a week, for four hours each day, over the twelve-week period. Qualified participants will transition into the Apprenticeship Program.

The program is open to high school students, college students, and community members, and is structured as a pre-apprenticeship-style experience, leading to apprenticeships, internships and career opportunities, depending on a student?s academic standing and goals. All learning materials are provided to the participants to support participation and reduce financial barriers.

Where applicable, the program may also be eligible for school credit, subject to approval by the student?s high school, college, or university.
