What types of projects or tasks can I expect to work on during a remote medical physics internship?

During a remote medical physics internship, you can expect to work on a variety of tasks that support clinical and research teams, such as analyzing imaging data, assisting with radiation treatment planning, performing quality assurance checks using simulation software, and contributing to documentation or protocol reviews. While hands-on equipment experience may be limited remotely, interns frequently collaborate with physicists and technologists through video calls, shared digital resources, and virtual meetings. This setting helps you develop technical skills and an understanding of clinical workflows, while also improving your ability to communicate and solve problems in a distributed team environment.

What is a remote medical physics internship?

A remote medical physics internship is a training opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain practical experience in the field of medical physics while working from a remote location. Interns typically assist with research, data analysis, quality assurance, and virtual meetings under the supervision of certified medical physicists. These internships provide exposure to clinical and research applications, including radiation therapy and diagnostic imaging, without the need to be physically present in a hospital or clinic. Remote internships can help students build relevant skills, network with professionals, and prepare for advanced studies or certification.
