• Conduct detailed psychological assessments to gauge cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning tailored to the unique needs of hospice patients.
• Formulate and implement individualized treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments, employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and grief counseling.
• Provide compassionate psychotherapy services to patients, families, and caregivers, addressing mental health concerns that arise during the hospice journey.
• Administer, interpret, and analyze psychological tests and assessments to aid in diagnostic clarification and shape effective treatment strategies.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including nurses, social workers, and medical staff, to create a coordinated care plan that encompasses the psychosocial needs of patients.
• Deliver crisis intervention strategies to support individuals experiencing acute distress, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment while facilitating appropriate referrals.
• Maintain thorough documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant patient records in compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
• Continuously expand your knowledge by staying abreast of current developments and research within the field of psychology through professional literature and training.
• Provide mentorship and supervision to psychology interns and doctoral students, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development initiatives to cultivate a collaborative atmosphere and enhance clinical skills.

The individuals you serve will primarily include patients in hospice care, who may be experiencing significant emotional distress and a range of mental health challenges associated with end-of-life issues. You will also work with their families and caregivers, providing them with necessary support and resources to cope with their situations. A deep compassion for those facing terminal illnesses, coupled with strong clinical skills, will enable you to address the complexities of grief, loss, and acceptance that arises during this sensitive time.

• Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Psychology from an accredited program.
• Current and valid state licensure as a psychologist, allowing for independent practice.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting, with specific experience in hospice or palliative care preferred.
• Strong foundation in psychological assessment, treatment modalities, and the ability to diagnose complex mental health conditions.
• Expertise in providing individual and group therapy, utilizing diverse therapeutic approaches tailored to the hospice care setting.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build trust with patients and their families.
• Experience collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care to patients.

• Previous experience in hospice or palliative care settings is highly desirable.
• A track record of developing and implementing comprehensive treatment plans for diverse patient populations.
• Familiarity with grief counseling methodologies and crisis intervention strategies.
• Proven ability to leverage telehealth technologies to facilitate remote therapy sessions.
