Job Summary
The 988 Wisconsin Lifeline Clinical Supervisor provides clinical leadership, supervision, coaching, and quality oversight for Lifeline Counselors serving individuals who contact the 988 Wisconsin Lifeline. The position supports a multidisciplinary team that may include paraprofessional, bachelor's-level, and master's-level staff. The Clinical Supervisor facilitates individual and group clinical supervision, reviews counselor interactions and documentation, provides ongoing feedback and professional development, and promotes high-quality, ethical, and responsive services for help seekers. This position partners closely with 988 leadership to identify training needs, strengthen clinical practices, support regulatory and agency compliance, and contribute to continuous program improvement.
Essential Functions
Clinical Supervision & Staff Development
  • Provide individual and group clinical supervision to Lifeline Counselors in accordance with program expectations, professional standards, and applicable requirements.
  • Coach and provide ongoing feedback to Lifeline Counselors to strengthen clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and interactions with help seekers.
  • Support the development and implementation of systems that ensure Lifeline Counselors receive appropriate clinical supervision, staff development, and in-service training.
  • Identify staff development and training needs and communicate recommendations to the Clinical Manager and other appropriate program leaders.
  • Develop and facilitate in-service training opportunities for Lifeline Counselors and other 988 staff.

Quality Assurance & Clinical Oversight
  • Review live interactions and/or transcripts between Lifeline Counselors and help seekers to evaluate quality, adherence to established standards, and alignment with best practices in mental health service delivery.
  • Conduct regular reviews of counselor documentation and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Promote compliance with agency policies and procedures, ethical standards, state requirements, and applicable program expectations.
  • Support systems and practices designed to ensure help seekers receive appropriate, consistent, and high-quality services.
  • Identify clinical or service-quality concerns and communicate them to appropriate leadership for follow-up and resolution.

Program Support & Continuous Improvement
  • Partner with the Clinical Manager, Program Manager, Director, Vice President, and other program leaders regarding clinical needs, quality concerns, staff development, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in program evaluation, quality improvement, and program planning activities.
  • Contribute clinical expertise and recommendations to strengthen service delivery, staff effectiveness, and the overall quality of the 988 Wisconsin Lifeline program.
  • Build and maintain effective professional relationships with employees, leaders, and internal and external partners.

Additional Responsibilities: Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the mission, strategic objectives, operational needs, and continuous improvement efforts of Family Services. Essential functions may be modified as business needs evolve.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education:
  • Required: Master's degree in Social Work or a related field.

Experience:
  • Required: Minimum of three years of experience providing direct services to help seekers, along with two or more years of clinical supervision experience.

Licensure:
  • Required: Current Wisconsin licensure in one of the following: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
