Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray & Mammography) | Correctional Healthcare | California

Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: 13-Week (Temporary/Relief) Assignment
Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift (specific hours vary by facility)
Weekly Pay: $2026 per week

Location: California State Correctional Facility
License Requirement: Active California CRT with Fluoroscopy & Venipuncture Certification
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year (12 months within last 3 years) performing diagnostic imaging services

About the Opportunity:
Join a mission-driven healthcare team providing high-quality imaging services within California correctional facilities. The Radiologic Technologist plays a critical role in patient diagnosis, safety, and careโ€”performing general radiographic and mammography imaging while maintaining strict compliance with CDCR and state standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general diagnostic and mammographic imaging procedures according to established CDCR protocols.

  • Prepare and process high-quality X-ray exposures using digital RIS/PACS systems.

  • Ensure proper patient identification, positioning, and exposure settings.

  • Support medical providers during specialized or emergency procedures (e.g., fluoro, drainage, biopsy).

  • Maintain equipment and coordinate preventative maintenance for all imaging systems.

  • Apply radiation safety standards and maintain ALARA principles at all times.

  • Review images for clarity, labeling accuracy, and diagnostic adequacy.

  • Respond promptly to emergency and bedside imaging requests.

  • Document all imaging activity within RIS/PACS per CDCR policy.

  • Maintain professional relationships and uphold universal safety precautions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 12 months of radiologic experience within the last 3 years (excluding internships).

  • Current Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license issued by the California Department of Public Health.

  • Current Fluoroscopy Permit and Venipuncture Certification (as applicable).

  • Mammography certification or other modality (CT/MRI) experience preferred.

  • Compliance with 8 CCR 5199 standards, including N95 or PAPR medical clearance and annual respiratory protection training.

  • Proficiency in the English language (verbal, written, and comprehension).

Preferred Skills:

  • Mammography and fluoroscopy proficiency.

  • RIS/PACS and Fuji CR imaging workflow knowledge.

  • Ability to perform contrast studies and emergency imaging procedures.

  • Strong understanding of infection control, patient confidentiality, and correctional health protocols.
