We are searching for a dedicated and skilled Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join the compassionate team at Scripps Behavioral Health in Paterson, New Jersey. • Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate the trauma history of patients and establish suitable treatment strategies.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that address specific needs related to trauma recovery and cultivate resilience in patients.
• Utilize evidence-based interventions including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate healing.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients effectively process trauma and develop vital coping skills.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate integrated care for all patients.
• Provide critical crisis intervention and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies.
• Educate patients and their families regarding trauma responses, coping strategies, and available community resources.
• Ensure accurate and confidential documentation of patient interactions and treatment compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and continuous professional development aimed at maintaining trauma-informed care practices.
• Stay informed about current research and emerging best practices in the field of trauma therapy.

You will primarily work with trauma survivors who have experienced varying degrees of emotional distress and mental health challenges. The patient population includes individuals coping with conditions such as PTSD, complex trauma histories, and dissociative disorders. Your role as a therapist will directly contribute to their recovery by offering personalized therapeutic approaches that respect their unique experiences and needs.

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in New Jersey.
• Demonstrated strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills complemented by a compassionate, non-judgmental approach.
• The ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and various computer applications.
• A collaborative spirit and willingness to contribute as part of a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals.

While 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred, those with substantial training or internships in trauma therapy are also encouraged to apply. Familiarity and experience with implementing trauma-focused therapies is essential to support our patients effectively.
