Job description

We are seeking a Software Engineer I to join our Core Platform - Streaming & Storage team. In this role, you will help build and operate foundational streaming, messaging, and storage platforms that power critical workflows across StubHub.

The team provides core engineering products used broadly across the company, including message queues, DQL, retry infrastructure, messaging control planes, and storage platforms such as key-value databases, distributed caches, blob storage, and search/indexing systems. These platforms enable teams to build reliable, scalable, and event-driven services

As an Software Engineer I, you will contribute to the development, testing, and operation of shared platform services while learning from experienced engineers. You will help improve reliability, performance, and developer experience, and support engineering teams as they adopt modern streaming and storage patterns. This is a strong opportunity to grow deep expertise in distributed systems while working on infrastructure with broad impact across StubHub.

Location: Hybrid (3 days in office/2 days remote) - New York, NY
 
What You'll Do:
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain impactful improvements that cross the frontend and backend code across all StubHub's platforms and products, resulting in high-quality outcomes
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure best practices across our code
  • Manage individual initiative priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with your technical expertise

What We're Looking for:

  • Recent graduate or software engineer with up to ~1 year of experience (including internships, co-ops, or substantial academic projects). 
  • Strong CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, and core programming concepts). 
  • Basic experience building user-facing applications and/or consuming APIs. 
  • Exposure to LLMs or GenAI tools (coursework, internships, hackathons, or side projects)-bonus if you've used frameworks or platforms like Anthropic or ChatGPT in something you built.
