About the Role

The Legal & Compliance Associate supports Pentagon’s legal, compliance, and risk management functions by assisting with contract administration, regulatory compliance activities, and risk management processes. This role works closely with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and the parent company legal team to help ensure the company operates in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and internal controls. 

This position is fulltime, salaried, reports to the Legal & Compliance Manager, and is an inoffice position located at Pentagon’s corporate offices in Hayward, CA. 

What You'll Do:

• Assist with drafting, reviewing, organizing, and maintaining company legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and compliance records. 

• Support internal stakeholders by providing preliminary legal and compliance guidance, escalating issues to senior legal or management personnel as appropriate. 

• Assist with the administration of Pentagon’s insurance and risk management programs, including tracking renewals, documentation, and compliance requirements. 

• Help identify potential legal and operational risks and support the evaluation of mitigation measures under the direction of senior leadership. 

• Serve as a point of coordination with the parent company legal team by gathering information, preparing reports, and tracking action items. 

• Support the review and maintenance of company risk management policies, procedures, and internal protocols. 

• Assist with implementing risk management solutions such as insurance coverage, safety policies, and business continuity documentation. 

• Support the management of commercial insurance renewals and business license filings. 

• Maintain organized records related to contracts, insurance, compliance filings, and risk management activities. 

• Perform other related duties as assigned. 

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, law, or a related field (required). 

• J.D. degree, paralegal certification, or equivalent legal or compliance experience is a plus but not required. 

• 1 to 3 years of experience in a legal, compliance, risk management, or corporate administrative role, or relevant internship experience. 

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. 

• Highly organized with solid documentation and follow up skills. 

• Ability to work independently on routine tasks while knowing when to escalate issues. 

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a willingness to learn. 

• Team oriented, proactive attitude with flexibility to support a variety of assignments. 

• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills. 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). 

Safety:

Employee will be trained in, and is to follow and lead by example, all general safety requirements of Pentagon Technologies as well as specific safety regulatory requirements.

Physical Demands:

Must pass Company required screening tests. The employee is regularly required to sit and stand, reach with hands and arms and perform light routine office work, which includes computer workstation usage.
