Interface Analyst
Varian Medical Systems is hiring an Interface Development Specialist II on a remote basis. In this role you will be responsible for analyzing and coordinating the development of HL7 interfaces between Varian's ARIA Database and customer systems such as Epic, Cerner, and LabCorp. The role utilizes ARIA Connect (which utilizes Cloverleaf). Collaboration is required with customer's clinical team & IT staff, Varian project managers, consultants, installation and service teams, and third-party vendors to ensure successful interoperability.
What You will do:
  • Develop and program high-quality interfaces, applying strong technical and organizational skills
  • Convert existing customers' interfaces from the Information Exchange Management (IEM) product to ARIA Connect
  • Configure new interfaces using the ARIA Connect
  • Provide technical guidance to meet customer interface requirements
  • Prepare interface specification documents, perform configuration, data manipulation, unit testing, and support delivered interfaces
  • Report issues to Product Engineering
  • Apply knowledge of HL7 standards, general HIS system integration and interface related practices within the healthcare environment to ensure appropriate application and integration of Varian OIS

What You will have:
  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent
  • Experience with Cloverleaf interface engine
  • Knowledge and understanding of the HL7 Standard, the variations that can differ between vendors and clients and what constitutes allowable and valid site-specific variations.
  • Understanding of additional standard messaging structures as well as communication protocols
  • Knowledge and understanding of the types of data used in the healthcare industry.
  • Knowledge and Experience with other data interchange formats. Primarily HL7, XML, and XPATH but other business-to-business formats will be considered
  • Experience writing TCL scripting is preferred
  • General database knowledge
  • Effective professional communication
  • Analytical and interpretive skills, including the ability to make recommendations to improve the business and interface processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to work independently and in teams
  • Effective timeline management and deadline adherence

  • Advanced Microsoft Server, Windows, and SQL Server expertise

The base pay range for this position is:
$57,190 - $78,639
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
