EAH is now seeking to strengthen the organization with a Junior Accountant as the business continues to scale. This position will be located at EAH's headquarters in Wadsworth, Ohio (in-office position) and reports to the Controller. 


Position Summary

EAH is seeking a Junior Accountant to support the accounting department's day-to-day financial operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to grow, and has a foundational understanding of accounting principles. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this role will assist with transaction processing, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance in a fast-paced distribution and eCommerce environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to develop their skills within a growing, private equity-backed organization.


Key Responsibilities

General Accounting

  • Prepare and post journal entries for monthly and quarterly accounting activities.
  • Assist with month-end close processes, including account reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and proper coding
  • Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Support the reconciliation of sub-ledgers to the general ledger

Compliance and Controls

  • Maintain supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Support sales and use tax filings and related reconciliations.
  • Reconcile sales tax information across financial systems and Avalara.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to accounting leadership.
  • Assist internal stakeholders with financial reporting requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of accounting experience, including internships.
  • Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred: 

  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or Great Plains.
  • CPA candidate or intention to pursue CPA certification.
  • Familiarity with eCommerce, distribution, or inventory-based businesses.
