Our expertise spans ENERGY STAR Homes, LEED for Homes, Enterprise Green Communities, Passive House, HERS Ratings, state incentive programs, and energy code compliance.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a Green Building Project Manager to join our growing team of building performance professionals. This role focuses on managing multifamily projects from design through construction and closeout, guiding clients and internal teams through green building and energy efficiency programs, documentation workflows, energy modeling, and incentive requirements. The ideal candidate has direct experience with green building or energy efficiency programs and is comfortable coordinating clients, project teams, schedules, budgets, and multiple priorities.
What You'll Do
As a Project Manager at SCI, you'll lead multifamily projects through design, construction, and closeout, ensuring they stay on track to meet program, budget, and performance goals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing communication, expectations, and deliverables.
  • Lead charrettes, design meetings, and milestone check-ins with development, design, and construction teams.
  • Review energy models, plans, specifications, and project documentation for quality and alignment with program requirements.
  • Manage documentation and compliance workflows for ENERGY STAR, Passive House/Phius, LEED for Homes, Enterprise Green Communities, NYSERDA, and other green building programs.
  • Manage project schedules, scopes, budgets, billing milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate Energy Raters and other internal team members assigned to projects.
  • Oversee collection and submission of supporting documentation, including ResCheck/ComCheck, HVAC documentation, incentive paperwork, and program closeout materials.
  • Participate in site visits at key construction milestones as needed.
  • Support internal improvements, including SOP updates and training and mentorship of junior team members.

Requirements
  • 1-2 years of project management experience.
  • 1-2 years of professional experience with HERS Ratings, ENERGY STAR, LEED, Passive House/Phius, Enterprise Green Communities, or similar green building or energy efficiency programs.
  • Working knowledge of green building program requirements, documentation, and certification processes.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in construction management, architecture, building science, engineering, or a related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience in the building trades.
  • Ability to interpret construction documents, specifications, and technical project documentation.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred
  • RESNET HERS Rater, LEED Green Rater, Phius Certified Verifier, or another relevant credential.
  • Experience with energy modeling, building envelope strategies, HVAC systems, and energy code compliance.
  • Experience with multifamily construction, project budgets, QA workflows, or project closeout.
  • Experience with NYSERDA, Mass Save, or other state energy efficiency and incentive programs.

Why Work with SCI
