Description
The Research & Technology Innovation Scientist supports BioLab Holdings' research projects, product development and Accelerator program initiatives through a combination of scientific research, cross-functional coordination, and project execution. This role contributes to early-stage product and program evaluation, supports project management and marketing activities, and partners closely with teams across R&D, Legal, Marketing, Clinical, and Operations to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
Essential Functions
Research & Development
โ€ข Analyze, and assess new products and program concepts, including biomaterials, formulations, device prototypes.
โ€ข Conduct scientific and technical due diligence on internal and external technologies, including review of biological experimental procedures and supporting data
โ€ข Assist in the design and execution of laboratory experiments and studies
โ€ข Perform biological data analysis and contribute to interpretation of experimental an
program-related results
โ€ข Maintain standardized evaluation templates covering product performance, mechanism of action, supporting data, intellectual property considerations, regulatory pathway, and market opportunity
Accelerator Program
โ€ข Supports BLH Accelerator program (Catalyst) related initiatives for feasibility and efficacy
โ€ข Support Catalyst project management and marketing initiatives, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and timelines are met as well as post-program support activities
Market analysis support
โ€ข Collaborate with internal stakeholders (R&D, Sales/Marketing, Clinical) to present findings and support data-driven product and program decisions
โ€ข Prepare concise reports, summaries, and presentations for internal stakeholders and external partners
โ€ข Stay current on scientific literature, bioinformatics trends, and industry developments relevant to tissue regeneration and Accelerator program initiatives
Staff Training
โ€ข Support training and development of interns or junior staff as needed to support R&D and program operations

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering, or a related field (required)
โ€ข Master's degree with 2-4 years of relevant industry and research experience
โ€ข PhD-level experience in a related discipline (preferred)
Experience:
โ€ข Demonstrated experience with biological experimental procedures and data analysis
โ€ข Preferred experience in bioinformatics or related analytical disciplines
โ€ข Experience supporting cross-functional project management and/or marketing initiatives in a scientific or technical environment
Certifications:
None required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
โ€ข Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously
โ€ข Ability to clearly communicate complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
โ€ข Ability to confidently present scientific and program information to broad audiences, including leadership and cross-functional team
Physical Requirements
This position operates in a laboratory and office environment and requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, use a computer, communicate effectively, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Ergonomic hazards are also present, including lifting, awkward postures, repetitive motions, and prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Specific job tasks such as sitting at a workstation for extended periods can lead to back, shoulder, hand, arm injuries, and eye strain, while prolonged standing may result in strains, sprains, and leg or knee injuries. Walking throughout the building introduces the risk of slips, trips, falls, and strains, particularly if walkways are obstructed or wet. Additionally, cleaning up spills can pose hazards such as slips, trips, strains, and potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Overall, employees must remain aware of these hazards to reduce the risk of injury in the workplace.
