Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking Sr. Staff Systems Engineerto work withinSystems Engineeringorganization.This role reports to the Engineering Integration & Execution (EI&E) leaderona Research & Advanced Designprogram.This role islocatedon-site,based at the followinglocation:Melbourne, FL.

The selected candidate will lead the Specialty Engineering activities in support of the Systems Engineering IPT lead. This team of skilled engineers has responsibility for Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3), Environmental Engineering Qualifications (EEQ), Human Systems Integration (HSI), System Safety, and System Security Engineering.

The individual will be responsible for operating in an agile team environment and perform the following:

  • Work with Section Managers to staff the Specialty team
  • Assign tasks to Systems Engineers on the Specialty team
  • Represent the Specialty team at staff meetings, customer meetings, technical interchange meetings, etc.
  • Facilitate cross-IPT discussion to ensure alignment of Specialty requirements, design, and implementation

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) related discipline and 14 years of engineering experience, Master's in STEM with 12 years engineering experience OR PhD in STEM with 10 years of engineering experience.
  • Must have previous experience with at least one of the following disciplines:
    • Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3)
    • Environmental Engineering Qualifications (EEQ)
    • Human Systems Integration (HSI)
    • System Safety
    • System Security Engineering
  • Must have previous experience with Cameo.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) with the ability to obtain a DOD Top Secret clearance.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within prior to commensuration of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have previous experience with at least two of the following disciplines:
    • Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3)
    • Environmental Engineering Qualifications (EEQ)
    • Human Systems Integration (HSI)
    • System Safety
    • System Security Engineering
  • Experience with Agile workflows
  • Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills.
  • Proven ability to brief technical presentations to both internal and external stakeholders
Primary Level Salary Range: $166,500.00 - $249,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
