Job description

Position Overview
The Human Resources Intern role will provide an opportunity to gain practical experience and insights into HR Operations. The HR intern performs various administrative tasks in support of the HR department. They update employee databases and excel sheets. Additionally, they address employee queries, distribute company policies, and participate in organizing company events. This role provides valuable hands-on experience in HR processes, allowing interns to gain a comprehensive understanding of HR functions and contribute to the smooth operation of the department.
Learning Outcomes:
This internship will provide hands-on experience with HR programs, business practices and policies as well as daily operations and records retention, in a non-union manufacturing, Defense Contracting environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Providing administrative support to the HR Team
  • Entering and maintaining accurate data in multiple HR systems
  • Organize, schedule, and execute events in support of employee
  • Review exit surveys and schedule exit interviews

Basic Requirements:
Sparton interns must meet the following criteria:
  • Active pursuit of a Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress or recent graduates within one year of successfully completing a bachelor’s or master’s program. Must be verified as part of the background check process.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to work on-site in DeLeon Springs, FL
Schedule Availability Requirements:
  • Must be available to intern a minimum of 6hrs a day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Preferred Knowledge and Experience:
  • Experience as a Staff Assistant or similar entry level HR role is a plus
  • Experience with Excel, managing email, Canva, and Microsoft Office products
  • Organizational skills
  • People skills
