HRIS & Benefits Specialist

Location: South Austin, TX (Hybrid after training)

Pay: $30.00 / Hour during contract | $55,000–$65,000 upon permanent hire

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

About the Opportunity

Addison Group is partnering with a growing organization in South Austin to hire an experienced HRIS & Benefits Specialist. This role is ideal for a seasoned HR professional with a strong background in employee benefits administration and HRIS management who enjoys owning projects, solving problems independently, and serving as a subject matter expert. You'll play a key role in supporting approximately 300–350 employees.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and open enrollment.
  • Serve as the primary HRIS administrator, ensuring employee data is accurate, up to date, and maintained with the highest level of integrity.
  • Process benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, eligibility changes, vendor reporting, and invoice reconciliation.
  • Manage leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, disability, and other leave requests.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding benefits, HRIS, leave administration, and retirement plans while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Partner closely with payroll to ensure benefit deductions and employee records remain accurate.
  • Maintain HR records, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies.
  • Assist with onboarding activities, HR documentation, audits, and other HR projects as assigned.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve HR processes and take ownership of projects from start to finish.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of dedicated Benefits Administration experience with a Benefits Specialist or similar benefits-focused title.
  • Strong hands-on experience administering employee benefits and HRIS systems.
  • Experience managing FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, leave administration, and benefits compliance.
  • Knowledge of federal and state benefits regulations and employment laws.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms such as UKG, Dayforce, ADP, Workday, or similar systems. Dayforce experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or SHRM certification are preferred but not required.
