For over 60 years, Walker Therapeutic and Educational Programs is a leading non-profit organization providing comprehensive programming in the fields of child welfare, children's behavioral health, and special education. We proudly serve over 150 communities in MA, with our clients coming from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, who struggle predominantly with anxiety and trauma. These services are offered through; Residential, CBAT, and Intensive Treatment Programs, Special Education Day School, Therapeutic Middle-High School, Out-Patient and In-Home Therapeutic Services. Position Summary: Walker Therapeutic & Educational Programs seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse for their Needham Campus. Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the LPN will be responsible for both routine and emergency medical services in both the residential, group and school programs.
Qualifications: Successful candidates will possess Associates degree in Nursing and have an interest working with school-aged children. This position will require alternating weekend coverage and some holidays. New grads are welcome to apply!
Essential functions for this position include:

  • Provide routine medical care to students
  • Provide emergency care to students if necessary
  • Administer medications to students at various times throughout the shift
  • Maintain medical records
  • Provide on-going consultation to staff and attend required meetings
  • Ensure that first aid supplies are available in all necessary locations
  • Track and schedule medical, dental and lab appointments
  • Provide in-service training to staff
  • Communicate with parents/guardians/collaterals as needed
  • Support Nursing internships
  • Attend multidisciplinary team meetings as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
