It is our mission to improve the lives of our patients, families and community. Vital Health is looking for a Medical Office Assistant to join our team who will assist with the essential day-to-day operational functions in our office and who will provide support for the clinical staff in our primary care, mental health, and substance use disorders programs.The perfect candidate for this position will have a "sunny" disposition, a positive outlook and be able to interact effectively with all types of people. Self-direction, ability to multi-task and attention to detail are essential. This is a full time Monday through Friday position. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare the office for patient appointmentsKeep waiting room in order and hospitality cart stockedGreet patients and provide assistance with check-inAnswer telephones, take messages and/or transfer callsSchedule patient appointmentsSort incoming mail, prepare outgoing mail and faxesPrepare memos and lettersUpdate calendar events and schedule meetingsTrack and order office suppliesEnter data in the electronic health recordAssist with patient referrals and follow-up with other providersAssist with insurance pre-authorization processMaintain and compile information in medical records and chartsRequirements2+ years' experience working in the healthcare field2+ years' experience in medical office administrationExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsSuperior customer service skillsHigh level of professionalismComputer literate, punctual and organizedAccuracy and attention to detail
