JOB SUMMARY:
The Department of Psychiatry at Penn State Health and the Penn State College of Medicine is seeking physician or PhD applicants for an open-rank faculty position within the Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. The level of faculty appointment and salary will be commensurate with experience and training. Candidates with appropriate qualifications may be considered for tenure track. The position will offer a mix of protected research time along with clinical opportunities linked to the candidate's areas of expertise. The Department of Psychiatry is comprised of 65 faculty members with nearly half in the Child Division. The Division has a growing research portfolio supplemented by close collaborations with other neuroscience disciplines across several Penn State campuses including University Park. There are ample opportunities for teaching across our APA approved Psychology Internship, General Psychiatry Residency, Child Psychiatry Fellowship and other postdoctoral fellowships.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated productivity in applying multi-method approaches to examining the biological, cognitive or psychological bases of child psychopathology. The selected candidate will join a growing faculty dedicated to furthering the development and implementation of empirically supported assessments and treatments for children and adolescents. The division has a broad focus including ADHD, Autism, trauma, addictions, eating disorders, anxiety, depression and services research. Our neurosciences laboratory utilizes a variety of neuro- and psychophysiological measures to evaluate the role of affective and cognitive function in psychopathology. Several research programs are directly integrated into clinical settings with a research-dedicated scanner and EEG lab on site.
The professional qualifications for this position include:
The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree of PhD in clinical psychology (or related disciplines) or completion of child psychiatry fellowship program
Preference will be given to applicants with an established record (senior positions) or potential for (junior faculty) obtaining external funding and publishing studies in high quality peer-reviewed journals.
