The Portage-Geauga County Juvenile Detention Center is presently presently accepting applications for internship opportunities within our agency.

  • To build trusting relationships with our residents / clients to motivate and encourage positive change in their behavior;
  • To practice the Detention Center’s identified ideals and values on a consistent basis to provide our residents with an opportunity to realize their full potential;
  • The ability to plan, develop, and execute structured leisure time and recreational activities for our residents;
  • The ability to monitor, manage, control, and direct adolescent behavior;
  • The ability to de-escalate stressful situations and identify problem resolution;
