Company Description NBCUniversal is one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies. We create world-class content, which we distribute across our portfolio of film, television, and streaming, and bring to life through our global theme park destinations, consumer products, and experiences. We own and operate leading entertainment and news brands, including NBC, NBC News, NBC Sports, Telemundo, NBC Local Stations, Bravo, and Peacock, our premium ad-supported streaming service. We produce and distribute premier filmed entertainment and programming through our powerhouse film and television studios, including Universal Pictures, DreamWorks Animation, and Focus Features, and the four global television studios under the Universal Studio Group banner, and operate industry-leading theme parks and experiences around the world through Universal Destinations & Experiences, including Universal Orlando Resort, home to Universal Epic Universe, and Universal Studios Hollywood. NBCUniversal is a subsidiary of Comcast Corporation. Visit for more information. Our impact is rooted in improving the communities where our employees, customers, and audiences live and work. We have a rich tradition of giving back and ensuring our employees have the opportunity to serve their communities. We champion an inclusive culture and strive to attract and develop a talented workforce to create and deliver a wide range of content reflecting our world.

The Role:

The User Experience Researcher will play an influential role in shaping the future of the Peacock product. The person in the position will execute a variety of studies with impact across the Peacock viewing experience — answering questions like: what do ideal browsing experiences look like and how do they differ across devices, what do subscribers need to feel confident in their content decisions, and how do sports audiences discover innovative features? Reporting to the Senior Director of User Research and Consumer Insights, they will collaborate with cross functional partners across Product, Design, Analytics, and Product Marketing, and will conduct research evaluating product concepts, experiences, and decisions, as well as projects that gives shape to new product initiatives.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Conducting, analyzing, and synthesizing research on multiple aspects of consumer product and device experiences
  • Working with Designers, Product Managers, Data Analysts, and other UX Researchers to define and research questions and identify opportunities for insights in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Supporting the User Research roadmap, working with your manager and other UX Researchers to ensure stakeholder and product needs are met and aligned to achieve organizational KPIs and goals
  • Communicating and socializing research findings effectively, translating insights into actionable recommendations
  • Vendor management, as needed on specific projects
  • Leveraging innovative research methodologies and AI-enabled tools to streamline efficient and repeatable workflows
  • Championing a consumer-centric mindset throughout the organization
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience conducting UX research including experience executing product research projects from study design through fielding, synthesis, and reporting
  • Skilled at employing a number of qualitative and quantitative research methods — including surveys, moderated and unmoderated usability studies, in-depth interviews, diary studies, card sort exercises, etc.
  • Understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development lifecycle
  • Familiarity with statistics and experience using survey tools like Qualtrics
  • Demonstrated success using data and insights to influence product decisions and impact product direction
  • Ability to connect insights and themes across research projects
  • Balance of effort across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Clear written and verbal communication, strong data storytelling and presentation skills
  • Experience partnering closely with designers, product managers, and data analysts
Desirable Characteristics:

A genuine passion for entertainment and media, and a deep curiosity about culture and trends as they relate to products and user experiences

Demonstrated experience:
  • Designing and executing quantitative research across a variety of analytical approaches
  • Researching streaming products, sports experiences, and/or mobile games
  • Managing projects and working in a large, matrixed organization
  • Basic understanding of behavioral user analytics and how to incorporate behavioral analytics into UX research efforts
Additional Requirements:
  • Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
  • This position is eligible for company-sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
