Internship Funnel Designers are professionals who create and optimize processes (or 'funnels') to attract, assess, and onboard interns for organizations. They design digital and manual workflows that help companies find suitable internship candidates efficiently, often using marketing and automation tools. Their job includes crafting application forms, setting up interview stages, and ensuring a smooth experience for both applicants and employers. By analyzing data and feedback, they continuously improve the funnel to boost the quality and retention of interns. This role is crucial for companies looking to build strong internship programs and talent pipelines.

What are some common challenges faced by Internship Funnel Designers, and how can they be addressed?

Internship Funnel Designers often encounter challenges such as aligning the funnel structure with the unique needs of internship programs and ensuring a smooth candidate experience. Balancing the expectations of hiring managers, HR, and interns can require strong communication and adaptability. To address these challenges, it's helpful to gather feedback from stakeholders regularly, use data-driven insights to refine the funnel, and stay updated on best practices in recruitment marketing and user experience.

Why Flux

Flux is taking the hard out of hardware, by developing the first AI Hardware Engineer. Our goal is to democratize the ability to create bleeding edge hardware, and revolutionize how electronics are designed and built around the world.

The Role

This is a high-impact role for a creative, data-driven marketer whoโ€™s equal parts strategist and builder. Youโ€™ll take ownership of growth at Flux, leading a small but capable marketing team while rolling up your sleeves to design and execute the next generation of growth initiatives.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Refresh GTM strategy: Re-evaluate our current growth engines (SEO, paid, social, partnerships) and design a plan to 10x revenue.

  • Experiment & innovate: Stay ahead of how AI is transforming growth. Bring in the latest tactics, frameworks, and creative approaches to acquisition and retention.

  • Manage & mentor: Lead our current team (SEO, paid ads, social media, design). Provide direction, unblock them, and level up their impact.

  • Own funnel performance: From awareness through conversion and expansion, get hands-on with analytics, funnel diagnostics, and rapid experimentation.

  • Growth engineering mindset: Work closely with product and engineering to optimize onboarding, activation, and retention flows. Identify friction points in the user journey and ship solutions.

  • Influencer & community marketing: Amplify Fluxโ€™s position as the AI-native ECAD leader through partnerships, thought leadership, and community-building.

  • Creative leadership: Generate and test new campaign ideas, landing pages, and ads. Push the brand forward with bold, memorable execution.

What Youโ€™ll Bring
  • Proven experience driving growth at a high-growth startup or scaling team.

  • Strong track record across multiple channels (SEO, paid, content, social, partnerships).

  • Hands-on ability to run experiments, analyze data, and turn insights into action.

  • Strategic communicator who can rally teams, partners, and leadership around growth priorities.

  • Creative thinker with a pulse on the latest in growth marketing and AI-driven tactics.

  • Empathy for technical users (engineers, builders, or other specialized audiences).

  • Comfortable operating as both IC and team lead, scrappy, fast-moving, and not afraid to dive into the weeds.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with growth engineering, e.g., optimizing onboarding flows, user activation, and conversion rates.

  • Familiarity with developer tools, technical SaaS, or products targeting engineers/designers.

  • Ability to code or prototype simple growth experiments is a plus (not required but highly valued).

Benefits & Package
  • Competitive salary (Director-level) and meaningful equity.

  • Comprehensive benefits package.

  • Title/level will match experience and impact.

Profile

Impact-oriented: You don't feel done until real people are getting real value from what you built.

Ambiguity-native: You thrive in the undefined. Our work is full of half-mapped terrain, soft constraints, and ideas that shift under your feet. That energizes you. You constantly update your intuitions as you go, and are excited to discover new and better ways to attack challenges we're still finding words to describe.

Collaborative: You share your thoughts early and often, and welcome debate and creative collaboration. Flux is a deeply collaborative company, and we believe that the best ideas can only win if they're said out loud.

Convention-averse: Flux is an AI-first company, building AI tooling, using AI tooling. We constantly experiment with new tools, techniques, and processes. You feel an urgency to reimagine what your work looks like in this rapidly changing world, and you value critical thinking far above established conventions.

Ownership mentality: You are a self-starter, bias toward action, and care deeply about the team and community who lean on you and your work.

Thanks for reading! Prior experience with HW or Electronics is not required - except for our Hardware internships! If the roles above donโ€™t fit you, weโ€™d still love to have you in our network for upcoming opportunities. PS. We're always looking to meet Engineers who are interested in writing news, technical articles, or building tutorials.
