Job Description

RESPEC seeks an Early Career Geologist to join our team in Laconia, NH.

Are you a recent geology graduate or early-career professional looking to build your experience in mineral exploration and field geology? RESPEC is seeking an Early Career Geologist to join our multidisciplinary team and contribute to exploration and field investigation projects across the United States.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced geologists, gain exposure to drilling programs and field operations, and develop the technical skills needed for a successful career in the geosciences. You'll spend time in the field collecting and evaluating geological data while contributing to meaningful projects that support responsible resource development.

Key Responsibilities

As an Early Career Geologist, you'll assist with a variety of geological field and office activities, including:

  • Monitoring and documenting exploration drilling activities
  • Collecting, labeling, tracking, and managing rock core, soil, and aggregate samples
  • Recording geological observations and maintaining accurate field notes and logs
  • Assisting with drill core logging and sample preparation
  • Supporting quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes during sampling and data collection
  • Participating in geological mapping, field investigations, and exploration programs
  • Managing and organizing geological data and project records
  • Collaborating with project managers, geologists, contractors, clients, regulatory agencies, and other project stakeholders
  • Contributing to a culture of safety by following company safety standards and environmental procedures
  • Traveling to project sites across the United States and working in diverse field environments, including remote and rugged terrain

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Geological Engineering, or a related field
  • 0-2 years of professional geology experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Strong interest in mineral exploration, field geology, and geological data collection
  • Basic understanding of geological principles, drilling programs, and sampling methods
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in both office and field environments.
  • Ability to travel up to 30-60% of the time, depending on project needs
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel

Preferred

  • Internship, field camp, research, or prior geology-related experience
  • Familiarity with GIS, geological databases, or geologic modeling software
  • Experience working outdoors or in field-based environments
