Job description

The Law Office of Kenneth D. Brown is a legal services firm in College Park, Georgia with a mission of promoting access to legal advice in the Metro Atlanta area. We are seeking a motivated individual to help drive the success of our innovative legal services company. This position will assist with a variety of legal projects and administrative duties necessary to resolve basic to moderately complex legal issues.

The successful applicant will gain first-hand experience with legal issues in with several different areas of law. Alongside our attorney, the successful applicant will play an active role in the firm’s success by assisting firm’s staff and providing ligation support. If you are interested in jump starting your legal career this is the position for you!

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The applicant will work directly with attorney Kenneth D. Brown and firm’s staff to provide legal services to our clientele. Candidates must be able to work independently and efficiently, multi-task and work within strict timelines. Candidates must also understand and maintain confidentiality of client matters.

REQUIREMENTS: Must be an outgoing, trustworthy and assertive self-starter who can work independently. We are searching for applicants who are passionate about the legal industry and have the desire to learn, grow and contribute to the success of our company. We need someone who is an effective communicator, organized, and self-motivated. No specific experience, credentials, or education is required.

COMPENSATION: Pay is $12.50 per hour


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with administrative tasks to include answering phones, scheduling, preparing client contracts, sending and receiving mail, e-filing and managing client files.
  • Drafting basic pleadings and correspondence using correct spelling, grammar, punctuation and formatting.
  • Organizing numerous tasks under time constraints with minimal supervision.
  • Maintaining document files and case correspondence.
  • Communicating with clients to provide information.
  • Preparing written marketing documents.
  • Maintaining firm social media accounts.
  • Managing marketing data and spreadsheets.
