ABOUT SAGIS DIAGNOSTICS

Sagis Diagnostics is a physician-owned, multispecialty pathology laboratory headquartered in Houston, TX. Founded by dermatopathologists, Sagis has grown into one of the largest dermatopathology laboratories in Texas, offering a full suite of pathology services to clinicians and patients across the country. Our mission centers on patient-focused diagnostics delivered with precision and care.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking two detail-oriented, dependable summer interns to support our laboratory operations team. In this role, you will assist with slide retrieval and preparation and operate digital scanning equipment to support our pathologists and laboratory staff. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience inside a high-volume clinical pathology environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Locate and pull glass slides from storage based on case requests and work orders
  • Organize and stage slides for pathologist review, scanning, or outgoing referrals
  • Operate digital slide scanners to create high-resolution whole-slide images
  • Verify slide labels and case identifiers for accuracy prior to scanning
  • Maintain organized slide storage and return slides to correct locations after use
  • Log scanning activity and flag discrepancies to lab staff
  • Assist with general laboratory support tasks as directed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; current college students are welcome to apply
  • Interest in healthcare, science, or laboratory settings is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
  • Comfortable working in a clinical laboratory environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Prior laboratory experience is not required — we will train the right candidates
