This internship takes place in the Spring Semester, typically beginning in early January and ending May/June.ย

We are seeking a Employee Experience Analytics & Process Improvement Intern to join our Human Resources team. This intern will support employee experience, onboarding, retention, learning, and engagement initiatives through data analysis, dashboard development, survey analysis, process improvement, and low-code/no-code technology solutions.

This hybrid internship reports to the Training & Development Specialist and works within the Human Resources Department. It is designed for students interested in workforce or business analytics who learn best through hands-on experience. This intern will work on real organizational projects and help develop tools and processes that support employee experience and organizational effectiveness. Our goal is for the intern to leave with meaningful, resume-worthy accomplishments and practical experience that can be applied in future roles.

This internship is designed as a semester-long experience with the potential to extend into a year-long internship based on organizational needs, project progress, and mutual interest.

Schedule: Flexible, part-time (16-32 hours/week during business hours, Mโ€“F)
Location: Hybrid,ย in office 1x per week at EveryMind Headquarters, Rockville, MD, & local travel for events/meetings.ย 

Primary Internship Project
Onboarding & Retention Analytics Dashboard -The intern will support the development of an onboarding and retention analytics dashboard that helps EveryMind measure onboarding effectiveness and new hire outcomes.Areas of focus include:
โ€ข Rolling 12-month 90-day retention
โ€ข Rolling 12-month 1-year retention
โ€ข Early turnover
โ€ข New Hire Experience Score
โ€ข Department-level onboarding and retention analytics
โ€ข Dashboard development and reporting documentation
โ€ข Process improvement and automation recommendations

If the intern is successful in completing this primary project ahead of schedule, they will have the opportunity to work on stretch assignments and additional projects related to measuring additional employee experience programs and initiatives.

Experiential Learning Opportunities
Because the intern will support both onboarding and employee experience analytics, they will also have opportunities to participate in the employee engagement programs and initiatives being measured. This may include:

โ€ข Employee engagement events
โ€ข Onboarding activities
โ€ข Employee trainings
โ€ข Wellness and recognition initiatives
This provides a well-rounded experience by allowing the intern to observe how employee experience programs are designed, delivered, measured, and improved.
Confidentiality
As a member of the Human Resources team, the intern will have access to sensitive employee information, survey data, and organizational reports. The intern will be expected to maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of their work.

Required Qualifications

  • Current third- or fourth-year undergraduate student or graduate student enrolled in a master's program.
  • Pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Human Resources, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working with data, surveys, spreadsheets, reporting, research, or data analysis projects through coursework, internships, employment, or academic projects.
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, data visualizations, or other methods of presenting data and insights.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
