Job description

NVIDIA is pushing the boundaries of what AI and accelerated computing can achieve. In the role of Electrical Build Engineer, AI Factory Deployment, you will join a world-class team to develop and install innovative power systems for AI Factories. This role provides a chance to define a meaningful contribution to NVIDIA's goal of leading the next computing era!

What you'll be doing:

  • Collaborate with product owners and technical leads to identify and collect requirements for next-generation data centers.

  • Support the global build standards for data center power systems, partnering with internal teams to develop execution strategies and lifecycle management.

  • Adapt DSX and electrical system reference builds to AI Factory deployments.

  • Conduct technical evaluations from site selection through site turnover, including contractor selection, bid package development, build review, RFI response, submittal reviews, and commissioning support.

  • Provide technical support for construction and commissioning issues, working with internal and third-party teams to ensure flawless development and product lifecycle management.

  • Standardize electrical engineering quality approval, process control, product evaluation, vendor proposals, and automated testing procedures.

What we need to see:

  • BS and/or MS in Electrical Engineering with a PE License or equivalent experience.

  • 12+ years of professional experience in data center build or construction.

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, critical for building rapport and credibility with multiple collaborators.

  • Extensive knowledge of electrical power paths from utility distribution, including high, medium, and low voltage systems for IT and Mechanical to the rack.

  • Expertise in power distribution for UPS, Generators, Floor PDUs, RPPs, Busway, and power supplies/power shelves, Chillers, Cooling Towers, CRAC, CRAH.

  • Understanding of electrical build and operational changes with high power rack densities and expert knowledge of short circuit coordination and arc flash studies.

  • Solid understanding of mechanical, controls, life safety, and IT Networking systems associated with critical environments.

  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with experience in driving root cause analysis in high pressure environments.

  • Experience with Level 1-5 commissioning and direct-to-chip liquid cooling technologies.

  • Solid grasp of Sequence of Operations (SOO) for electrical system control.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience working in leased colocation data centers and with total electrical infrastructure development and implementation.

  • Experience with dynamic power behavior control & mitigation for large-scale GPU deployments.

  • Familiarity with BESS systems, energy storage, Microgrid, On-Prem Generation, microgrid controllers, and Utility Interconnections.

  • Knowledge of Direct Current (DC) power distribution and international electrical systems and builds.

  • Strong understanding of document management and change management procedures.

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD for Level 5, and 216,000 USD - 345,000 USD for Level 6.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
