Early Career Electrical Engineer – Space Systems

About West Coast Solutions


West Coast Solutions develops advanced electronic systems for aerospace, power, and cryogenic applications. As a growing team of experienced aerospace professionals, we combine technical excellence with the agility and ownership opportunities that come from working in a small, high-impact organization. We are expanding our presence in Atlanta with a new satellite office in Midtown, built to grow alongside Georgia Tech talent and our collaboration with the Georgia Tech Space Research Institute (GT SRI).


We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design, analysis, testing, and development of power systems and mechanism controllers for space and lunar applications. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will contribute to hardware development efforts ranging from concept design and simulation through laboratory testing and product validation. This is an immediate hiring need and a great fit for engineers looking to accelerate their technical growth while making meaningful contributions working on real flight programs in close collaboration with Jet Propulsion Laboratory, aerospace primes, GT SRI, and others.


What You'll Do


  • Support the design and development of power systems and mechanism controllers for space and lunar applications
  • Support the design and development of analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronic systems
  • Perform circuit analysis, simulation, and component selection activities
  • Assist with schematic development and hardware integration efforts
  • Support prototype builds and product validation efforts
  • Participate in design reviews and technical discussions
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation and test reports
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout product development


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Exposure to circuit analysis, simulation, or electronic hardware development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new technical challenges


Preferred Qualifications


  • Some professional engineering experience preferred; Master's or PhD graduates, or Bachelor's graduates with strong co-op/internship experience, are encouraged to apply
  • Experience with aerospace, defense, space, or other high-reliability electronic systems
  • Experience with SPICE or similar circuit simulation tools
  • Experience with power electronics, embedded systems, or digital control systems
  • Experience with FPGA or microcontroller-based hardware
  • Experience supporting hardware development through test and validation activities
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting electronic hardware
  • Interest or coursework in spacecraft, lunar, or planetary systems


Compensation & Benefits


Salary Range: $90,000 - $115,000 dependent on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated capability.
