This is a hands-on hybrid role for someone who can think strategically about keyword opportunities and competitive positioning, execute the technical work to capture them, write the content that ranks and converts, and partner with communications to earn the high-authority backlinks that compound it all. You'll be the single point of accountability for organic traffic and organic-sourced conversions across CoinFlip's web properties, partnering with product, compliance, design, growth, and communications to translate complex crypto and fintech topics into content people search for and publications cite.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and execute the organic growth roadmap - keyword strategy, competitive benchmarking, prioritization, and quarterly KPI targets.
  • Lead technical SEO: site architecture, crawlability, page speed, schema markup, internal linking, and Local SEO across CoinFlip's kiosk footprint (Google Business Profiles).
  • Partner with developers and designers to ship technical improvements and prevent regressions on launches.
  • Maintain SEO tooling stack (GSC, GA, SEMrush/Ahrefs, Screaming Frog) and report on performance with actionable insights.
  • Develop and execute the content strategy across blog, landing pages, and educational guides.
  • Write and edit high-quality, SEO-optimized content that translates complex crypto and fintech concepts into clear, accurate, user-friendly material.
  • Run regular content audits; refresh, consolidate, or sunset underperforming pages.
  • Maintain CoinFlip's tone of voice and ensure content meets compliance review standards.
  • Partner with the Communications team on data-led digital PR campaigns - supplying original research, industry data studies, and newsworthy assets designed to earn backlinks from crypto, fintech, and mainstream publications.
  • Source and respond to reporter requests via HARO, Qwoted, and similar platforms in coordination with Communications, producing expert commentary on a tight turnaround.
  • Identify backlink targets and feed a shared target publication list with Communications.
  • Track domain authority, referring domains, and link quality; report on link velocity and the SEO impact of earned coverage.
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, compliance, design, growth, and communications on launches, campaigns, and integrated initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of combined SEO and content experience, ideally in fintech, crypto, or another regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving organic traffic and ranking growth as both strategist and individual contributor - portfolio of published content and link-earning campaigns required.
  • Deep technical SEO knowledge: search algorithms, site architecture, page speed, schema markup, Core Web Vitals.
  • Strong writer and editor - able to produce publication-quality content on complex financial topics without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Hands-on experience supporting digital PR / link-building via HARO, Qwoted, or similar.
  • Proficiency with GSC, GA, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and a CMS (WordPress, Drupal, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS.
  • Strong analytical skills; able to translate data into strategy and into clear written narratives.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of cryptocurrency, blockchain, and fintech.
  • Experience optimizing Local SEO via Google Business Profiles at scale.
  • Familiarity with how SEO integrates with paid media, email, and social.
  • Basic data visualization (Tableau, Looker, or similar) for building data-led link-earning studies.

Compensation:

Expected Annual Salary: $30,000 - $50,000 USD
