Position Highlights:

  • Position: Internship – Kinesiology GV Rehab
  • Location: GV Rehab

 

Internship Overview

This 12-15-week curriculum is designed for a Kinesiology undergraduate student to balance clinical exposure with essential operational support. The internship includes a longitudinal quality improvement project resulting from initial and ongoing collaboration with the GV Rehab Quality Committee (RQC).

Clinical Exposure and Observation Philosophy

Our clinical internship fosters a well-rounded understanding of multidisciplinary rehabilitation by ensuring exposure to a diverse patient demographic and a broad range of therapeutic interventions. We utilize a rotational observation model to ensure interns are exposed to varied clinical presentations—moving beyond singular pathologies or specific treatment modalities—to witness the full spectrum of physical, occupational, and speech therapy practices.

Daily Recurring Tasks
  • Facility Care: Pull dirty linens, restock clean linens, and organize equipment.
  • Infection Control: Wipe down treatment tables and exercise equipment between patients.
  • Admin Support: Break down discharged charts, scan paperwork, and filing.
  • Organization: Ensure proper labeling and placement of therapy tools for easy access.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in a Kinesiology Undergraduate program.

 

Compensation:

  • This internship is unpaid.

 

Additional Information:

  • Relocation: Must relocate to Grand Junction, CO 81505 after starting work.
  • Work Location: In-person/onsite
