Job description

This position is ideal for an early-career professional or recent graduate to join Align Technology's Global People Analytics team as a People Analytics Analyst I, supporting the development, maintenance, and operational execution of people data products. Partnering closely with the People Analytics Lead and cross-functional HR teams, you will contribute to Power BI dashboards, recurring reporting, and data quality operations that enable leaders to access consistent, trusted workforce insights. This role is an important foundation position-building technical capability, business context, and fluency in HR data while contributing to scalable analytics solutions across the enterprise.
Support the People Analytics Lead in maintaining and enhancing Power BI dashboards, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and performance across HR, Talent, and Executive audiences.
Prepare and refresh recurring operational reports and dashboards (for example: headcount, attrition, hiring, mobility, survey participation) using established data models and governance standards.
Assist with data validation, cleansing, and reconciliation to ensure reliable inputs from Workday and related HR systems.
Partner with HR stakeholders to translate reporting requests into clear requirements, escalating ambiguities and opportunities for standardization.
Document dashboard logic, metrics definitions, and data sources to support transparency, scale, and user trust.
Support global survey and listening programs through data preparation, reporting, and operational analytics tasks.
Participate in testing and quality checks for new analytics releases, enhancements, or system changes.
Apply Align's people data governance, privacy, and compliance standards in all analytics activities.
Continuously build analytics skills by applying feedback, adopting best practices, and learning from senior analytics practitioners.
Required:
Working knowledge of Power BI (academic, internship, or project experience acceptable).
Strong analytical thinking with attention to data accuracy and detail.
Foundational proficiency in Excel, including formulas, pivots, and data cleaning.
Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain data simply and accurately.
Curiosity and willingness to learn HR data, systems, and business context.
Desired / Developmental:
Exposure to HR data through coursework, internships, or projects.
Basic understanding of SQL, data modeling, or data visualization principles.
